Join our barefoot tribe for forest camping on an idyllic beach paradise for a celebration of human connection and creativity as we welcome in 2016.

Prana New Years Festival is a 4-day grass-roots, sponsorship-free gathering which steps boldly away from the mainstream commercial events, providing a welcome alternative for those who crave something "real".

You'll experience a colourful collaboration of open hearts who come to Prana year after year for transformational workshops for mind, body and soul; yoga; meditation; multiple music spaces; drumming circles; late night dance; circus; a wonderful global market place bursting with healthy food; a therapeutic Body & Soul Zone for regeneration and much more. All in a family friendly environment with baby, child and teen areas; smoke free zones; a low alcohol tolerance policy and a focus on sustainable practices that take care of our Earth.

Circle Stage

After it's hugely successful debut at New Years 2014, the Circle Stage returns to provide a magnetic listening hub for festival-goers. A covered tent, with a circular platform in the center, the space is home for Circle Stage Artist Collective by day, providing a programme of hand-picked musicians for solos, jams, collaborations and experimentations. The open-participation sessions, allows anyone who feels inspired to be part of the experience. At night, bands will indulge the crowd with alternative, indie and world tunes to bring you to your feet and move you to the magic of the music created here.

Maverick Cabaret

Calling all wanderers, dreamers and drifters. Each night, the Barn transforms into a largely unscheduled and archly disorganised space where you’re encouraged to become completely captivated by chaos-in-creation. Poetry, music, dance, debates, philosophical enquiry, open mic, comedy, performance art. Bring all quirks and contributions to the place where our wild and unusual shadow selves can emerge.

Planet Gaia DJ stage

As the Circle Stage winds up each evening, the atmosphere turns electric as magic mixers and electronic wizards take the stage to bring the party. Find yourself in an illuminated light and sound experience under Pohutukawas in full bloom,  to the beat into the small hours.

Workshops

In true Prana style, this year’s festival programme is brimming over with amazing high quality inspirational workshops led by skilled facilitators that will propel you in to a new level of Being. This is a transformational festival where we offer you over 100 epic workshops to choose from!

Whether you are looking to strengthen and balance your psyche, dance it all out with free abandon, understand more about how we can live sustainably and in harmony with the Earth, become more masterful in relating to others, give your inner child opportunity to express, or find stillness, healing and connection with Source… it’s all there for you.

 Prana is your personalised playground!

YouthTopia

Fancy a cool place to hang with your mates? Lots on in the party zone but not feeling it? Why not have a kitkat at the place that feels like home.

Sunny Ray & Jay Jackson bring you an interactive youth space, where you can charge your phone, listen to music, laze about in hammocks and join in on a heap of great workshops. A funky place for Prana teens to call their own.

Family Zone

Babies, children and teenagers are warmly welcomed at Prana as we come together as one big family.

This year we are shaping our programme to ensure that more than ever, there are exciting options for all ages. Our Family Zone provides a dedicated facilitated space where parents and their children can hang out, have fun and take part in inspiring workshops.

Global Village Market

A village of unique and eclectic travellers and traders from all corners of the world, united in a belief in ethical selling practices and an awareness of minimising global footprints. These stallholders bring vibrant, fair-trade, hand-made, spiritually-designed wearable arts & crafts to the Prana weave.

This year we have more variety of organic and wholesome festival kai including gourmet organic crepes, Baja style tacos, Wilderland organic pancakes, Kombucha, ice cream and sorbet, Baba Yaga wholesome sandwiches, amazing Pioneer Pies, nourishing smoothies, and of course great coffee and chai from the Coffee Guru.

Body & Soul Circle

Healing what remains unresolved in ourselves and the collective is a key part of Prana's philosophies. It has always been a place to peel back the layers and find what lays at the core of our beings. The Body & Soul Circle aims to assist this process, with a careful selection of practitioners with highly attuned abilities in a range of healing modalities offering sessions at festival prices.

The Land

So many say that as you leave the gravel road and enter the Prana sanctuary, it feels like coming HOME. Breathe in the clean, pure air, put your feet on the earth and connect with a deep sense of nourishment which comes from this ancient place of healing. The land that has been known as Prana for the last 24 or so years, is nestled at the end of Ohui beach on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. The name Ohui, itself means meeting place and legend tells that local maori tribes would gather here to resolve conflicts and find peace between them. Our own peaceful tribe continues to gather on this land of rich and interesting historical significance, enjoying golden sands and a Pacific Ocean paradise.
